2025年10月16日に，カナダ・York University の Thomas Baumgartner 教授をお迎えし，講演会を開催しました。Baumgartner 先生は，リンを含むπ電子系の合成化学と物性について長年活発に研究を展開されているほか，2024年に行われたISNA (International Symposium on Novel Aromatic Compounds) の実行委員長を務められ，新奇π共役系の研究コミュニティの形成や若手の育成にも非常に熱意をもっておられる先生です。今回のご講演では，Baumgartner 先生が長年取り組んでおられるリンを含むπ電子系の合成化学や物性の探求について最新の成果をお話いただきました。また，講演の前には研究室メンバーとのディスカッションにも快く応じてくださいました。Baumgartner 先生，お立ち寄りありがとうございました！
On October 16th, 2025, we were delighted to host Professor Thomas Baumgartner from York University, Canada, for a special lecture.
Thomas is a leading figure who has long pioneered the field of phosphorus-containing $\pi$-electron systems. Beyond his impressive research, he served as the chair of ISNA (International Symposium on Novel Aromatic Compounds) in 2024 and is well-known for his deep passion for fostering the research community and supporting the next generation of scientists. During his talk, he shared his latest breakthroughs in the synthesis and property exploration of phosphorus-containing π-systems, which is a field he has dedicated many years to. We were also lucky enough to have him join a discussion with our lab members before the lecture.
